I want to thank Vienne for bringing Alan Whitby’s three important works,
“Grave Matters” (about the Watchtower cemetery)
“The Ross Libel Trial: The history of a 1913 legal case” (includes transcripts)
and “The Hudson Davidson Debate (1896) (The first known debate involving a Watchtower representative.)”
All three titles are available on LULU.COM.
I am looking forward to enjoying my copies.

I turned 18 in 1967.
Having the foreknowledge that "this wicked old system of things" was going to be removed from the Earth in 1975 gave me the motivation I needed to spend 100 hours a month in the life-saving door-to-door ministry, which is why today I am living in Paradise, enjoying Jehovah's 24/7/365 free lunch and dwelling in a house I did not build that was previously occupied by a Satanic Evildoer who was consumed by antimatter.
You could have been like me, but you weren't.

I have to admit that Harrison's Vision's of Glory is significant to my wifend I because we, like Barbara, were New Yorkers, and her book came along at "the right time" for us. We felt a kinship with her, and I was able to talk with her in person shortly before she died. So it is an emotional link, not rational.

They haven't published a book (yet) but Paul and Jeff at the YouTube channel Watchtower History certainly deserve to be included in this group.
Other I would add would be William "Watchtower Slave" Schnell,
Tony "A People for His Name" Wills,
Barbara "Visions of Glory" Grizzuti Harrison,
and as minor illuminaries (in my opinion),
Jerry "The Mental Health of Jehovah's Witnesses" Bergman
Duane "www.witnessinc.com" Magnani
At the time of this writing I do not know if Mssrs. Bergman and Magnani are still active.

Let us review a bit of human psychology: Pareidolia is the name given to the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none.
Example of this would be seeing images in clouds or in the grain of a slab of wood.
No one "put" those perceived images in the sky or in the wood.
When we examine the intentional work of other humans, like these illustrations, it is impossible to know if the images we perceive are intentional or circumstantial unless we interview the person who produced the work.

"Scroll?"
Yeah, Simon Peter whacked the servant upside the head with a scroll...

I'll go with the sheathed sword too, which fits with the story. According to the Bible, one of the disciples, Simon Peter, being armed with a sword, cut off the servant's ear in an attempt to prevent the arrest of Jesus.

Au contraire, Monsieur Moutarde! What proof do you have that JTB is a scam? You may be incredulous, but that is not proof of a scam. Rick Fearon is no scammer, and much of what JTB spoke of has come to pass in "Wacky Watchy World."
Seeing how right now we are near the "ides of March" I'll appropriate bits of Mark Antony's speech:
"The noble Mustard Man
Hath told you Fearon was a scammer:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Fearon answer’d it.Here come I to speak in Fearon's defense:He is my friend, faithful and just to me:But Mustard Man says he was ambitious; And Mustard is an honourable man.Fearon hath freed many Watchtower captivesWhose suff'rings would many valleys fill:Does this in Fearon seem a hustle? When those poor have cried, Fearon hath wept:Flimflams should be made of sterner stuff:Yet Mustard says he ran a racket; And Mustard is an honourable man.So many have seen that on the MemorialHe braved the ire of JW Elders,Again and again: was this a con?Yet Mustard says he was ambitious; And, sure, he is an honourable man.I speak not to disprove what Mustard spoke,But here I am to speak what I do know. Many loved him once, and love him still:What cause withholds you then, to defend him?O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,And men have lost their reason." -

New GB member Judy Jedele critizing Job's "humility" while wearing $20,000 Rolex, gold cuff links, coloured suit. Incredible!
by WingCommander ini swear, you can't make this shit up!
for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.
" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

Will the Watchtower be coming out with a "pronouns" issue? Will the 2026 yeartext be "If thy schlong offends thee, cut it off?"
